Vail Village and Lionshead are the main area of Vail with which many people are familiar. It is filled with a number of storefronts, restaurants, and the lodges and lifts for the ski slopes. The residences of both areas are mainly condos, but there area few single family homes and duplexes available. Prices in the area range from around $600,000 to over $3.3 million. Lionhead is about a half mile away from Vail Village, but has its own access to lifts and shuttles running between the two communities. Prices in Lionhead range from about $400,000 to about $6.2 million.
Just to the west of Lionhead are the communities of Cascade Village and Glen Lyon. The area has single family homes available in the high end price range from about $700,000 to over $7 million. The village has ski access from a chairlift near the Cascade Hotel. There is also a free Town of Vail bus stop that allows for easy access to both Vail Village and LIonshead.
If you want to find a home away from the hustle and bustle of the Vail Village area, there is always East Vail and Booth Creek region. About 5 miles to the east of the Village, this is almost a separate town. The commercial area is small and has just what you need. There is also access to the wilderness area, National Forests, and other outdoor activities. There are condos in the area, but it is mainly a single family home village. The area is part of the Vail Village bus route so you still have easy access to the ski areas. Prices here are reasonable with condos starting just under $300,000 to houses of more than $2.2 million.
Similar to East Vail is West Vail, which is located about 3 miles west of Vail Village. The area is not unlike East Vail in that it is predominantly made up of single family homes with a smattering of duplexes and condos. Prices are similar as well ranging from just under $290,000 to over $6.7 million.
As you can see, Vail, Colorado has a wide range of housing prices, neighborhoods, and types of housing. Within the Vail region you can live in a small town atmosphere, or in the busy Village where there is never a dull moment. When you think of Vail there is no reason you can’t think about it as home.
